Tracey Davey
International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Registered Nurse, Post Graduate Certificate in Paediatric Nursing. 33 years of Neonatal and Paediatric nursing experience.
I am a “mother’ to my 2 beautiful adult daughters and a “Nan” to my 3 precious grandchildren.

Hi, I am Tracey. Nursing sick children and babies had been my life’s work for over 30 years. I had the most amazing career in one of Melbourne’s major and largest children’s hospitals. During this time I have gathered so much wisdom and experience supporting families during some of the most difficult times imaginable in life.
I have always nursed with my heart and provided an extraordinary standard of care. My empathetic style of care is my “gift”
My greatest attributes have always been my compassion and ability to connect with people quickly and skillfully, making them feel at ease. I pride myself on my excellent people skills, my ability to really listen and nurture people in a manner that enables them feel safe and empowered.
During many years working in my role as a paediatric and neonatal nurse, I have been able to gain vast knowledge and experience in the breastfeeding field. Supporting breastfeeding in premature, small babies and babies with medical conditions became my specialty and area of expertise during my hospital career.
In January 2020, I successfully gained my certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant by meeting the extensive criteria.
My dream now is to finish my career working solely as a lactation specialist, following my passion for supporting breastfeeding and delivering care into the comfort of people’s homes. Eastern Ranges Lactation was born in April 2021. I can truly say that I am now a master in breastfeeding support & lactation medical care. I have thrown everything into training beyond the requirements to certify as an IBCLC, including being under the clinical mentorship of Dr Katrina Mitchell (a breast surgeon & breastfeeding medical specialist physician) for the last 5 years.
Stepping away from our health care system into private practice has enabled me to become a master of one trade instead of a jack of all trades. It has allowed me to offer a model of care which values time, continuity and wholistic practice. I can give parents the gift of my time and patience without the restraints of being pushed to the limit by our strained health care system. Thorough assessment, appropriate follow up and support is vital to providing a high standard of care, on MY clock this is achievable and prioritised.
I aim to give my mums and families what every new parent needs & deserves – TIME!
In a world that is lacking time, patience and understanding – I intend to continue offering outstanding care, education and advice that takes into account the most current evidence based research, aligned with commonsense, respect and underpinned by a wealth of wisdom that cannot be taught. I can continue to care for mums, parents, babies and families MY WAY!
My lactation practice is more than my business, it is my passion!
My mission
Not everyone’s breastfeeding journey ends up looking like what they expected. Breastfeeding is not ‘easy’ or achievable for every new parent. No new parent should feel ‘guilt’ for not being able to exclusively breastfeed. With my help and expertise, breastfeeding goals are aligned with realistic expectations. My mission is to give a parents effort to breastfeed the best chance. To work with a parent in shared decision making, to overcome challenges while also ensuring that they are left feeling like a ‘success’ not a ‘failure”, no matter what the outcome.
Whatever you are experiencing, my aim is to leave you feeling heard, not alone, supported and cared for.
My mission is to provide women with the individualised lactation care they deserve, doing away with the “one size fits all” approach to managing breastfeeding challenges. My mission is to expose the myths which have plagued breastfeeding advice and made it so confusing and conflicting. I provide advice and education that is underpinned by science/evidence and commonsense. Advice that recognises the differences in women’s bodies, breasts and babies.
My care acknowledges that every mother’s experience is different and each baby is different. Breastfeeding is a “lived experience’ & one you will remember for the rest of your life. My support ensures that your experience with breastfeeding is a positive one, no matter what happens. A positive memory to forever hold.
Using one-on-one wholistic care underpinned by common sense, years of nursing experience working with children and their families, and knowledge of evidenced-based research, my mission is to help turn what can often be an overwhelming experience into an empowering journey. I will continue to challenge traditional advice & I will continue to learn, in a quest to offer the highest standard of lactation care possible.
I can educate, support and help you before your baby is born to help prepare for breastfeeding, or at any time after your baby’s birth. I can be in your corner right from the beginning to the end. My help and support is affordable, ongoing and something you can access at any stage of breastfeeding. I can help with establishing breastfeeding, weaning and everything else in between!
